This is a testimony of how God worked through two visits, many faithful hands, and one steady calling — restoring wells, strengthening homes, and planting seeds that continue to bear fruit.

There are seasons when you can look back and clearly see the hand of God, not because everything went perfectly, but because He stayed faithful through each step. This was one of those seasons. Two visits. Two different moments. One steady work God was unfolding over time.

When Kurt came down, we were still in the middle of the work. VBS was happening, and it didn’t feel like an event…it felt like God meeting children right where they were. Joy, laughter, simple truth and grace filled those days. We visited two special needs families, shared food packages and spent time listening. Nothing flashy. Just love in motion.

“Let us not love with words or speech but with actions and in truth.” ~ 1 John 3:18

Kurt also put his hands to the work. Helping repair a well and seeing firsthand the process of another well still being dug by hand. Bars in the ground. Sweat. Long days. Trusting God when progress was slow. He planted beans on the land too, pressing seed into the dirt, believing God would use it in time. In the moment, it felt small. But obedience often does.

When Grant came later, he stepped into what God had already been preparing.

He was touched by the same woman Kurt had blessed earlier…a reminder that love doesn’t stop when a visit ends. Grant helped build a room for a special needs child. A space meant to bring safety, rest and dignity to the family and we treated that work as holy, knowing who it was for.

After that, I felt the Lord press something on my heart. We hadn’t done anything wrong but I wanted to be sure it was done to the standards of God, with strength that would last. I reached out to my friend Colby and together we reinforced the room with a solid four inch foundation, added rebar and tied it into the structure for durability. It wasn’t about doing more…it was about stewardship and care for the child who would live there.

Then there was the well.

This one had gone more than seventy feet deep. It started by hand until we reached our limit. Through the obedience and generosity of our dear friends Tom and Barbara, God made a way for us to move forward with the right machine work. That blessing opened a door we couldn’t open ourselves.

And then water broke through.

Relief. Joy. Tears. A community giving thanks. Grant didn’t just witness water…he witnessed what God does when people say yes from different places.

“You visit the earth and water it; You greatly enrich it.” ~ Psalm 65:9

Grant also walked into hard realities. Families living with black water and standing with a mother who had just lost her son suddenly. Those moments stay with you. They clarify the calling and remind you why love can’t wait.

Before Grant left, he saw the land again. The beans Kurt had planted now harvested, food placed into waiting hands. One brother planted. Another saw the fruit. God brought the increase.

“I planted, Apollos watered, but God gave the growth.” ~ 1 Corinthians 3:6

Looking back now, I don’t see separate trips. I see one faithful God. Patient, present and precise. Wells repaired and completed. Rooms built with care. Children reached. Land producing.

This is what happens when brothers show up and trust God with what’s in front of them. And He was faithful.

If God stirs your heart as you read this, we welcome your prayers, and we’re grateful for any support the Lord places on your heart as we continue this work together.
